Can You Afford Cosmetic Surgery?

If you've ever thought about cosmetic surgery in Ft. Lauderdale, you're not alone and have nothing to be ashamed of. Many people have a few nips and tucks on their face or body as they see fit. Procedures are becoming faster and easier and more importantly, safer than ever. They are also becoming more affordable, something that is a concern for many who are contemplating such a procedure.

Before you decide that you can’t get Ft. Lauderdale breast implants, a tummy tuck or other procedure, consider how affordable these procedures have become. What’s more, financial help may be available to you.

Charging the Procedure

It’s possible for you to put the cost a procedure on your credit card. The fact is that most of the cosmetic surgery procedures are only a few thousand dollars, and many people have that much available credit on a card. In addition, you may also be able to get a new card from your bank, credit union or other lender so that you can charge the procedure. Is it smart to charge cosmetic surgery procedures such a partial facelift or nose job? It depends. If you need to have the work done in order to feel more confident at work or in your relationships, then procedures such as Ft. Lauderdale breast implants may drastically improve the quality of your life.

Financing

You may have more options for financing than you realize. Very often a cosmetic surgeon has their own financing companies that they work with in order to provide options for their patients. These companies specialize in offering lines of credit for cosmetic surgery in Ft. Lauderdale and nothing else. That makes it easier to get the credit, versus trying to get a loan from your bank for cosmetic surgery. It's good to ask your surgeon if he or she has financing available as you may be surprised at the options, the rates they offer, and the monthly payments options available. These types of options may make the procedure more affordable than imagined, which in turn means you can have that bodacious body or beautiful face you want and deserve.

How You Can be Helped by a South Florida Plastic Surgeon

Today, major work on your body or face isn’t the only reason to see a cosmetic surgeon. They also offer a wide assortment of procedures that can address the smallest of concerns, as well as those procedures that can give you an entirely new look altogether.

If you haven't read up about the work offered by a good South Florida plastic surgeon in recent years, here are a few things that they may able to do for you.

Skin Resurfacing

Many Hollywood actors and actresses use a skin resurfacing procedure to look young and healthy. The procedure removes the top layer or layers of skin so that the healthy skin underneath is seen. This is done to remove wrinkles, blemishes, discolored areas and scars. You might opt for this procedure for yourself versus a facelift, or when you have scars and blemishes. There are different types of resurfacing. A chemical peel consists of applying a thin layer of a cream to the face that contains certain chemicals, which is then peeled off. Those skin layers come with it. An abrasive process uses crystals to brush away the top layers of the skin for the same result.

Nips and Tucks

Many areas of the body can be nipped and tucked with the right South Florida plastic surgery. If your eyelids droop or you have a double chin, a few simple nips can lift these areas of the face quickly and easily. On the body, you might also get a tummy tuck, which lifts the sagging front of the stomach. A South Florida plastic surgeon can advise you as to whether or not the procedure would give you the flat stomach you desire. Liposuction can also be used on many areas of the body to remove excess fat and tissue.

Many of these procedures are done quickly and in the doctor's office, and they are more affordable than you may realize. The right South Florida plastic surgery can address any area of the body or face about which you're self-conscious and give you the confidence you need, typically in a matter of a few hours.

Options for Fort Lauderdale Plastic Surgery

There is virtually no concern you may have over your appearance that cannot be addressed by Ft. Lauderdale plastic surgery. If you need something enlarged, made smaller, lifted up, or toned down, you're sure to find an affordable process that can address this concern. You may not even realize all of the procedures offered by doctors today for your face and body. Here are a few that you may not have thought of.

Tucks

Sagging skin is a problem for many people as it's natural for skin to sag as we age and also if someone is overweight. In addition, losing a great amount of weight can cause this problem as well. A good Fort Lauderdale plastic surgeon can tone and tighten skin around the chin, upper arms, and belly, three common areas of sagging skin. This procedure can be done on an outpatient basis for some areas but may require more time for others; your surgeon can explain your options. This procedure can mean no longer worrying about that dreaded double chin or having your underarms sagging every time you lift your arm. A Fort Lauderdale plastic surgeon can also offer smaller facelift procedures to tuck around the eyes or eyebrows or forehead to give you a younger look.

Resurfacing

The right Fort Lauderdale plastic surgery procedure can resurface areas on the or other areas of the body. If you have scars or stretch marks on your body, you may be able to get a peeling process to remove these layers of skin and reveal healthier layers underneath. You might also opt for a chemical peel for the face offered by Fort Lauderdale plastic surgery to remove wrinkles, scars, and enlarged pores.

Implants

Breast implants may be the most common type of implants offered, but you can get other types of implants via Ft. Lauderdale plastic surgery. These may be calf implants for the legs or pectoral implants for men. Cheek implants can give you a softer, fuller look in the face. These give the body and the appearance a more contoured shape. No matter your concern for your body or face, it's good to at least consult with a plastic surgeon to know your options.

How to Choose the Best Fort Lauderdale Cosmetic Surgeon

There's no reason to put off visiting a Fort Lauderdale cosmetic surgeon today. In fact, you can have just about any concern you have over your appearance addressed quickly and easily and more affordably than ever before. Many procedures are done right in the doctor's office with local anesthesia and require no overnight hospital stay and perhaps only a day or two from work to heal and recover.

Choosing the right Fort Lauderdale cosmetic surgeon is the key to having your procedures done properly and to getting the results you want. Cosmetic surgery is part medicine but also part art form because the doctor may need to sculpt and mold your body as they go through a certain procedure, so you want someone who is skilled and experienced.

Board Certified

Finding a Fort Lauderdale board certified plastic surgeon is imperative. When someone is certified, it means that the person has gone through additional training above and beyond what they learn in medical school and they have successfully completed that training. You should never risk your body, or your health, by using someone who hasn’t achieved this certification.

Choosing a Specialty

As well as finding a Fort Lauderdale board certified plastic surgeon, you also want to find a surgeon that specializes in the work you want done. For example, if you're looking to have liposuction, search online for a Fort Lauderdale ultrasonic liposuction expert. This will allow you to find a surgeon that handles these types of procedures on a regular basis. When you do this, you'll know that you're working with someone that has expertise in this type of procedure. Do the same if you're looking for a tummy tuck or breast augmentation, or whatever may be your concerns.

If you're not sure if you want a Fort Lauderdale ultrasonic liposuction procedure or aren't sure of the procedure that may work for you, simply search for a board certified surgeon and note their experience, how long they've been practicing, and the procedures they may recommend. This will help you to find the right expert who will then recommend the best choice for your concerns.

Fort Lauderdale Botox Treatment from a Certified Cosmetic Surgeon

Cosmetic surgery is more popular than ever in the United States. According to the latest numbers, nearly 9.5 million cosmetic procedures were performed by plastic surgeons in 2010. The single most popular operation was breast augmentation, followed closely by Botulinum Toxin Type A (aka Botox), which is actually a non-surgical procedure.

Why the rise?

One simple explanation is demographics. The largest generation in American history, the Baby Boomers, are now entering middle to old age. There are over 76 million of them, and most of them are nothing like their parents. They have different world and life views. They do not, for example, believe in growing old gracefully.

Most Baby Boomers do their best to remain youthful and energetic for as long as they possibly can. They eat right, they exercise, and they try to stay slim. Of course, there is no cure for gravity. Skin starts to sag no matter how well we take care of ourselves. Many Boomers who still consider themselves young look in the mirror and wonder who that old man/woman looking back at them is? It is at this point that many of them decide to see a plastic surgeon.

What can they do?

Contrary to popular belief, most people who have cosmetic surgery are not vain or unrealistic. They do not believe that these procedures can transport them back to their twenties like some magical Fountain of Youth. Most patients simply do not want to look old before their time. In other words, they want their outsides to match how they feel inside, i.e., youthful and energetic. It is for this reason that thousands of patients receive Fort Lauderdale Botox treatment each year.

Both men and women sign up for regular Fort Lauderdale Botox treatment to help them hide the wrinkles they believe make them look old. This non-surgical procedure is fast and nearly pain free. It is also quite affordable.

When it comes to real surgical procedures, Fort Lauderdale breast enlargement is easily the most popular, though Fort Lauderdale breast lift is a close second. Both of these procedures can be handled on an out-patient basis.

Dr. Peter Simon is a Board Certified plastic surgeon and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). He provides a free cosmetic consultation to all prospective patients in his discreet and private office located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. All Fort Lauderdale breast enlargement procedures are completed by the doctor himself.

Deciding Between Ultrasonic and Traditional Liposuction Methods

The medical field, much like the world of electronics, thrives on discovering new and improved technologies and treatments. The latest evolution in liposuction techniques, for example, involves ultrasonic waves- but we all know that newer isn’t always better. Like computer operators, doctors often prefer or specialize in newer or older technologies, so before you start looking for a plastic surgeon in Fort Lauderdale, you will want to decide which method of liposuction you prefer.

Ultrasonic vs. Traditional Liposuction

Knowledge is power; so before you decide which method is best for you, let’s take a look at the difference between ultrasonic and traditional liposuction techniques:

During a traditional liposuction procedure, the doctor will inert a hollow metal tube into the area marked for fat removal and physically break the fat layer into small pieces by pushing the tube back and forth. Once the fat is broken down, it is vacuumed out of the body through the hollow tube. This technique has been used to effectively remove unwanted fat for years, so if you feel more comfortable going with the most tried and true method, traditional liposuction could be right for you. However, the downside of this method is that the tube often destroys nerves and blood vessels along with the fatty tissues, making the recovery time longer, and leaving you with a risk of developing “lumpy” deposits as you heal. If that happens, you’ll need to undergo the procedure a second time.

Because most doctors are more experienced with the traditional method, they may recommend it over the relatively newer ultrasonic procedure, but Fort Lauderdale plastic surgeons with up to the minute industry experience and training like Dr. Peter Simon will probably suggest ultrasonic liposuction because this new technique offers distinct advantages. Using an ultrasonic device, the doctor can actually liquefy unwanted fat before vacuuming it out. Although the vacuuming technique and tool remains the same, this process allows fat to be removed smoothly and gently, without damaging any other structures. Nerves and blood vessels remain intact, and both the recovery time and the risk of lumpy deposits in significantly reduced.
